JA Foundation Partners with Diabetes Youth Care Organisation for Youth Diabetes Awareness Event
On September 23, 2024, JA Foundation partnered with the Diabetes Youth Care Organisation Ghana to address the rising rates of diabetes among children in our communities. This initiative reflects our commitment to promoting well-being alongside wealth management.
Held at the Osu Children’s Home in Accra, the event drew over 200 participants who received free health screenings to check their diabetes status. For those diagnosed, the Diabetes Youth Care Organisation provided immediate support and guidance. We fostered an open environment for discussing symptoms, prevention, and the path forward in managing diabetes.
A key highlight was hearing personal stories from individuals living with diabetes. Their courageous accounts helped dispel common myths, such as the belief that diabetes is solely caused by excessive sugar consumption or that it is contagious. These stories emphasized the importance of early diagnosis and proper care.
The event fostered a supportive atmosphere that promoted understanding and reduced the stigma around diabetes. It was more than just an awareness campaign — it was a meaningful step toward building a healthier, more informed community, reaffirming our belief that Health is Wealth.
