Kwaku Osei
Legal Advisor
Kwaku is a seasoned commercial lawyer and member of JA Group’s advisory board. His primary responsibility is overseeing the legal function. He is concurrently engaged as a contract lawyer with Linklaters LLP - one of the premier law firms in the City of London and a member of the ‘Magic Circle’ - where he provides legal counsel to sponsors, investors, and lenders in Europe and Africa on market-leading energy and infrastructure transactions. His expertise is in large-scale renewable power projects.
While at BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager, Kwaku helped deploy the $4.8 billion Global Renewable Power IV fund during his secondment there. He has written on Ghana's power sector for The New York Times and was recognised as the ‘Professional Services Rising Star’ at the 2018 Black British Business Awards.
In addition to his legal work, Kwaku is also an active angel investor and serves as a partner and legal counsel for Cornerstone Partners, a UK-based angel investor network. The network has invested over £1.3 million in more than 20 companies owned and operated by black and diverse founders.
Kwaku holds a BA in Political Science and French from Yale University, an M. Phil. in International Relations from the University of Cambridge (Clare College), and is a qualified solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales.
